Profile
“I am here to support clients in achieving their goals for therapy. I will help the client gain insight into what is and what is not working for them in order to establish and maintain healthy patterns in their life.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
My path to becoming a therapist started when I was young; most of my family members have careers in the helping field and I was able to witness how my own family helped others. I have worked in several different settings during my career as a psychotherapist. I have worked in a substance abuse clinic, a community-based mental health clinic, and private practice. I have worked with children, adults, couples, and families. During my career, I have had the honor of working with many women and families who struggle with perinatal and postpartum-related issues, including infertility, perinatal and postpartum depression, anxiety and mood-related disorders, and grief and loss. My path is both personal and professional with several years of postgraduate evidence-based training. My practice focuses on creating a safe environment for the individual to open up and start the healing process.
What should someone know about working with you?
My intake process consists of the client completing intake paperwork online via a HIPAA-compliant platform. I am here to support clients in achieving their goals for therapy. I will help the client gain insight into what is and what is not working for them in order to establish and maintain healthy patterns in their life. My clients can expect that most of their progress will be outside of the therapy room. My belief is that in order for a client to make healthy changes that will last, they need to be working on the therapeutic process 24/7 and not just in the therapy room.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
The mental health landscape has changed a lot with more providers utilizing telehealth, which has made mental health counseling more accessible to everyone. Since I specialize in maternal mental health, I have seen how individuals and families had to cancel their counseling appointments due to lack of childcare, doctor appointments, or illness. With telehealth, I can now offer different options to my clients to ensure that they are receiving consistent care and support.
