Profile
“I value the collaboration between myself and the client to identify and develop effective strategies to manage relationships and problematic life situations.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
From a young age, I was always the person trying to support others and help them in their time of need. After obtaining my MSW from Wurzweiler School of Social Work, I worked in an outpatient mental health setting, a substance abuse agency, and a public high school conducting individual counseling, group counseling, family sessions, and crisis intervention for children, adolescents, and adults. My experience as a psychotherapist has definitely shaped my practice as well as my ability to educate and support my clients in their goals of becoming their best selves.
What should someone know about working with you?
I value the collaboration between myself and the client to identify and develop effective strategies to manage relationships and problematic life situations. I view every client as unique and will partner with you to identify the most effective methods to utilize your strengths and address your personal needs. I use our first session as time to properly gather more information about my client and explore my client's desired goals and needs. I do give homework to clients in order to reinforce and continue to strengthen positive change.
What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?
The mental health field is constantly evolving, and I think it is very important to continue learning about the new theories and interventions. I participate in training and webinars to remain updated on the best practices and strengthen my clinical skills. In addition, I collaborate with other mental health professionals to better serve my clients.
