Profile
“My goal is to work with you to cultivate a life in which you are free to fearlessly tap into your most authentic self; a life in which you are not only surviving, but thriving!”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
My journey to becoming a therapist began at an early age with a genuine curiosity in the human experience. I was fascinated by the myriad of facets that play a role in decision-making, interpersonal relationships, and overall health and happiness. In time, I discovered the profound effects of emotional and mental distress and, subsequently, the inaccurate stigmas associated with mental health. The latter caused me to feel profound empathy for those who suffered in silence. It also fueled me to want to rewrite the narrative. I knew, in that moment, I was called to dedicate my life to helping others to heal intangible pain. In my vision, this began with a safe, nonjudgmental space in which each individual is free to process thoughts, emotions, and experiences; a space in which all belong and are accepted.
What should someone know about working with you?
You deserve to be seen, heard, and understood; to feel a sense of belonging. My goal is to work with you to cultivate a life in which you are free to fearlessly tap into your most authentic self; a life in which you are not only surviving, but thriving! Honoring, and celebrating, your unique skills, characteristics, and interests can help to inspire growth and expansion. I provide unconditional guidance and support for clients to understand past experiences, discover the root causes of present circumstances, catalyze change, begin (or continue) the healing process, and release any mental, physical, and/or emotional blockages that may be interfering with formulating and maintaining a healthy, balanced life.
How do your core values shape your approach to therapy?
My core values of respect, empathy, and expansion serve as building blocks for my practice. I hold steadfast to the belief that I am a student of life and continue to remain open to learning. I consistently remind my clients that they are the experts in their lives and the authors of their own stories; I'm simply here to listen and guide. I have an abundance of empathy for the human experience and the utmost respect for individuality and diversity. I genuinely believe all are worthy and capable of building a life that is authentic, fulfilling, and balanced. “Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking,” Marcus Aurelius.
