Profile
“I enjoy working with women, adults, trauma survivors, those with mood disorders (depression or anxiety), those with substance disorders, and members of the LGBTQ community and minority communities.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I knew as a young individual that I wanted to work in the mental health field. Over the years, I’ve worked in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric hospitals, outpatient settings, group counseling, and with children, adolescents, and adults. I’ve also worked as a program administrator, providing supervision and other responsibilities. My well-rounded experience allows me to harness my passion for individual psychotherapy.
What should someone know about working with you?
I enjoy working with women, adults, trauma survivors, those with mood disorders (depression or anxiety), those with substance disorders, and members of the LGBTQ community and minority communities.
What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?
I continue building and expanding my competence and knowledge as a therapist.
How do your core values shape your approach to therapy?
I believe that our core values shape who we are. My experience as a Hispanic Black woman in current American society brings a notable element to the therapeutic session.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
I am excited about telehealth evolving, as it allows us to enter our client's intimate physical space. I am also aware that telehealth is not appropriate for all individuals.
