Profile
“I utilize an integrative approach, combining cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based techniques, and reality therapy.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
When I graduated from undergrad, I began working in the nonprofit sector. I worked with underserved individuals struggling with homelessness, mental health diagnoses, lack of healthcare access, and substance abuse. This fostered my interest in giving back to my community by providing a resource such as therapy to build a foundation for individual growth. This also led me to obtain my MS in mental health counseling with a focus on multicultural, LGBTQIA, and women's issues as a means to provide support to communities within the minority.
What should someone know about working with you?
I utilize an integrative approach, combining cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based techniques, and reality therapy. Being human can be as amazing and wonderful as it can be challenging and confusing. Through my approach, I focus on a blend of support and encouragement mixed with challenging self-doubt and pushing clients to focus on harder issues.

How do your core values shape your approach to therapy?
I am a first-generation woman of color who was born and raised in the Bronx. I have firsthand experience with mental health stigmatization in our communities. I operate from a lens that explores multicultural issues and how our upbringing creates and shapes the people we are today. I hope to draw people into therapy who have previously been excluded from such spaces. This includes BIPOC, AAPI, and the LGBTQ+ community.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
I am most passionate and excited about the increase in accessibility of mental health for all individuals. Teletherapy has created convenience and an increase in care for young professionals, college students, and adults grappling with the weight of the world and trying to show up in relationships and work. I hope that our society continues to work on incorporating and supporting individuals through the use of teletherapy platforms.
