Profile
“Therapy provides breathing space to take a closer look and move toward contentment, growth, and fulfillment in a warm, safe, and friendly environment.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with over 21 years of experience working with children, teens, families, and individuals. I received my bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary social sciences, focusing on psychology and anthropology. I took a year off to do some self-reflection and learn what I wanted to do in life. I discovered that I love to meet others, listen to them, and assist in helping them work through any issues they are experiencing. I decided at that time that I would pursue a degree in social work. I received my master’s degree in social work from the University of New England in 1998. I am a Florida-qualified supervisor for MSW-registered interns seeking licensure. I love to enhance my skills and knowledge by attending conferences and taking continuing education courses.
What should someone know about working with you?
I believe that life is precious and that change isn’t just possible but inevitable. When the universe throws us some curveballs, we can find the possibility for growth and peace. Therapy provides breathing space to take a closer look and move toward contentment, growth, and fulfillment in a warm, safe, and friendly environment. I am committed to providing clients with the tools they need to achieve healthy growth and change. I help children, teens, families, and individuals move past hurts and life challenges. My value system and philosophies rest upon the belief that individuals have tremendous strength, spirit, and a powerful capacity for change and, together, we will collaborate to help you grow and live a more peaceful life. I am a mother of twins, who are the center of my world. I am a very passionate and enthusiastic person who enjoys exercising, dancing, reading, spending time with my family and friends, traveling, and cooking.
What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?
I am always looking to gain more skills and learning opportunities through courses and seminars, networking, and collaborating with colleagues.
