Profile
“I encourage my clients to explore their dreams and hobbies, recognizing that there are many parts of us that make up our best selves.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
My first love was music and I studied classical voice in college. I found myself gravitating toward helping people and listening to their stories. Ultimately, I decided to become a therapist. I continue to love the arts and am a practicing musician. I have dedicated my career to helping others navigate past traumatic experiences to become more grounded and present in their lives and I’ve worked with populations who face significant adversity. I encourage my clients to explore their dreams and hobbies, recognizing that there are many parts of us that make up our best selves. I have several years of experience working with adolescents, young adults, and families who are in crisis and have experienced complex trauma.
What should someone know about working with you?
My aim is to give my clients the tools to help them feel more present and in control of their lives. My style is warm and empathetic, and I use humor when appropriate. I utilize a pragmatic and goal-oriented approach to therapy, often assigning exercises to increase awareness and build up my client’s coping tools.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
I am excited about the accessibility of therapy through telehealth. I believe therapy is an essential part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and everyone should have access to a therapist.
