What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I've wanted to be a therapist since I was a teenager; helping others was always something I enjoyed. I truly believe everyone can benefit from a nonjudgmental, unbiased person with whom they can share their thoughts and feelings. Throughout my almost 20 years of experience, I've worked in nonprofit, school, and private practice settings. These various arenas have provided me with great opportunities to learn from diverse professionals and clients, ultimately enhancing my knowledge and skills.
What should someone know about working with you?
I truly enjoy helping people realize their goals to live a positive and healthy life. I believe that different things work for different people. In working together, we will find the strategies that work best for you. My role is to help you identify your needs and guide you in your process. My goal is to create a trusting, open, and nonjudgmental environment in which to do so.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
I am excited that access to mental health resources are growing. Telehealth provides an option for people to receive help that they may not have had access to otherwise. It also makes it more convenient for some that may have time or travel restrictions.
