“I specialize in treating individuals who are struggling with prepartum or postpartum issues, anxiety, depression, life transitions, marital or parenting difficulties, and all areas of women's wellness.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
Social work has always been my area of focus; I was drawn to the field, as I have a desire to listen and help people achieve their goals. I have worked in hospital settings, hospice, dual diagnosis, and outpatient treatment. I have received advanced training in cognitive behavioral therapy and trauma-informed practice and I am certified in EMDR.
What should someone know about working with you?
My intake process includes a brief telephone call, an intake questionnaire, and consent for treatment. My practice is focused on helping clients achieve their goals, which looks different for each person. My treatment is tailored to the individual's needs. I specialize in treating individuals who are struggling with prepartum or postpartum issues, anxiety, depression, life transitions, marital or parenting difficulties, and all areas of women's wellness.
What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?
As a college professor, I stay up-to-date on all of the current and relevant research in my field and attend continuing education on a variety of topics. My passions include trauma-related therapies, self-care, and best practices for anxiety and depression.
