Profile
“My training in cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, and trauma-informed therapy combined with my passion for the work guides my practice.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
Growing up in The Bronx, New York, I was faced with some obstacles and having social workers along the way to provide me with support and genuine care sparked my interest in social work. When I entered college, there was no doubt in my mind that social work was the career I would pursue. Social work is my passion and I have been honored to help various populations as a social worker. I have worked in various nonprofit agencies, serving youth in foster care, domestic violence survivors, and adults with severe mental health diagnoses. My many years of experience in social work have shaped me into a more comprehensive, knowledgeable, and empathetic therapist. My training in cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, and trauma-informed therapy combined with my passion for the work guides my practice. I am able to relate to various populations and life circumstances, which drives the treatment process.
What should someone know about working with you?
I am a therapist who will focus on getting to know you as a person and building a solid therapeutic relationship. I enjoy working with those who are skeptical about the therapy experience as well as those who may have had therapy in the past and would like to re-engage. You are the focus of this experience and I will honor that. I am flexible in my approach and encourage feedback. I believe in identifying the root cause to overcome challenges and achieve emotional stability.
What advice would you give to someone who is hesitant to try therapy?
Give it a try! Therapy can be a guide to help you overcome challenges, find tools to manage life problems, process childhood or adult trauma, or simply navigate employment or relationship goals. Together, we will navigate any hesitation toward therapy and focus on issues that matter most to you. This is your experience and your opportunity for true life betterment.
