“I create an environment where you can safely process difficult experiences and emotions to develop a greater awareness of self.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I have always been passionate about helping others and have been a therapist for over 20 years. I started my career doing clinical work, focusing on substance abuse, LGBTQ issues, depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. I spent several years as a senior level executive in a nonprofit agency, helping individuals live meaningful lives. After working as an executive for 10 years, I decided to go back to my roots and help individuals live their best lives. I specialize in LGBTQ issues, relationship issues, changes in health, chronic pain, depression, anxiety and dealing with grief & loss.
What should someone know about working with you?
I work with clients in a collaborative and holistic approach to care. I believe everyone is unique and I base treatment on a client’s needs and goals, focusing on their strengths. In sessions, you can expect a warm, empathetic, and accepting environment to help you grow. I create an environment where you can safely process difficult experiences and emotions to develop a greater awareness of self.
What are your specialties?
In addition to working with individuals dealing with mental health and the LGBTQ community, I also have extensive experience in LGBTQ issues. I also have extensive training in working with individuals with chronic health issues and chronic pain. I also work with family members who are caring for someone who has a medical condition. I have a strong interest in mindfulness and taking a positive approach to care.
