Profile
“I welcome clients who are interested in exploring their internal emotional experiences and seek to assist clients in the promotion of their own self-growth.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I am a licensed psychologist in the state of New York. I earned my doctorate in clinical psychology from The New School for Social Research in New York City. I have worked in both hospital and community mental health settings and have conducted an independent private practice for over 20 years. I provide a positive, nonjudgmental environment that results in a positive client-therapist relationship.
What should someone know about working with you?
My work is client-centered, using integrative theories and techniques (supportive, problem-solving, psychodynamic, CBT, and existential). I welcome clients who are interested in exploring their internal emotional experiences and seek to assist clients in the promotion of their own self-growth. I specialize in resolving both psychological and physical traumatic experiences and work with individuals who experience cognitive issues associated with head injuries and medical issues. I am interested in working with clients who want to improve interpersonal interactions and address life issues and conflicts leading to depression and anxiety. I am interested in exploring your goals and needs and what works for you in improving your sense of self-worth, leading to life satisfaction.
How do your core values shape your approach to therapy?
I focus on the positive aspects and strengths of each person and how these can be utilized to promote the individual’s personal self-growth. Rather than pointing to what’s wrong with a person, I am interested in how a person’s core experiences were useful in the past and exploring what behaviors may be more appropriate to their current life circumstances and contribute to life satisfaction in the present.
