Profile
“I utilize a person-centered approach to meet your individualized needs, achieve meaningful goals, and equip you with tools to overcome roadblocks along the way.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I received my master’s degree in social work from the Silberman School of Social Work and spent many years working as part of an interdisciplinary team within the New York City hospital system, providing care to clients with depression, anxiety, brain and spinal cord injuries, and chronic illness while supporting families navigating end of life decision-making and grieving the loss of a loved one. My experience working in inpatient medical settings gives me insight into the impact chronic health conditions have on mental health. I help my clients shift negative thought patterns, develop positive coping strategies, and build self-confidence.
What should someone know about working with you?
I utilize a person-centered approach to meet your individualized needs, achieve meaningful goals, and equip you with tools to overcome roadblocks along the way. I am passionate about supporting my clients as they rewrite their stories; our work together focuses on empowering you. I am trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic interventions, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness.
What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?
I’m passionate about learning and expanding my knowledge base to stay updated on research and interventions to continuously be able to provide excellent care to my clients. I participate regularly in conferences, seminars, and continuing education experiences on a range of topics, including but not limited to grief and bereavement, chronic pain, addiction, trauma, depression, and anxiety. Having worked as both a psychotherapist and a medical social worker on an interdisciplinary team, teamwork and collaboration are core values that I believe are essential to practicing through a holistic framework, ensuring that all aspects of a client’s health and mental health are heard and addressed.
