Profile
“My therapy style is warm, nonjudgmental, and interactive and my treatment approaches are tailored to meet each person’s needs and include CBT and contextual family therapy (just to name a couple).”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I have experience working in a local child and adolescent outpatient clinic, family services clinic, NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) at the hospital, and a faith-based organization that focused on providing treatment to the underserved population. All of this has prepared me to successfully treat a range of symptoms and clients. My personal life experiences and professional experiences have increased my desire to provide quality mental health care (through my private practice) to individuals across the lifespan.
What should someone know about working with you?
I provide psychotherapy to children, teens, and adults in a safe and supportive environment. I have a particular interest in working with couples and families to improve overall family functioning. I aim to create a fair and compassionate atmosphere to help you work through difficulties and improve relationships. My therapy style is warm, nonjudgmental, and interactive and my treatment approaches are tailored to meet each person’s needs and include CBT and contextual family therapy (just to name a couple). During treatment, I integrate a biopsychosocial model that takes into account various aspects of a person, including health, lifestyle, values and beliefs, coping strategies, circumstances, support systems, parenting style, and lived experience. This allows me to treat the whole person.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
I'm excited about mental health services being more easily accessible. Teletherapy allows me to provide mental health services to anyone in New York State, which is made possible by technology.
