“As a therapist, I challenge my clients to go inward and reflect while collaboratively creating opportunities for growth and evolution.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
As a child, I always knew I would be a "psychology doctor"; I enjoyed sitting at the food court with my dad and watching people walk by. My dad and I pretended to know about each person's life and gave them names and personal stories. Growing up, I was always outgoing, intuitive, introspective, and observant. All of these qualities have made me the therapist I am today. As a therapist, I challenge my clients to go inward and reflect while collaboratively creating opportunities for growth and evolution. I am a certified grief counselor and certified mental health integrative medicine provider (CMHIMP), which helped mold and shape me into the person and therapist I am today.
What should someone know about working with you?
I utilize meditation, visualization, family of origin, and humanistic techniques in therapy and believe that growth and evolution are active processes that require clients to go beyond the therapy room, which is why I encourage my clients to complete weekly tasks. These tasks are tailored to each individual client and their set therapeutic goals.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
The pandemic created an incredible opportunity for clients and therapists to cultivate relationships beyond face-to-face therapy. Today more than ever, individuals are gaining access to therapy through telehealth and that is exciting to witness as a clinician.
