Profile
“As a client, you will be encouraged to be an active participant during sessions and implement strategies discussed or sent via our secure client portal.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I have extensive experience providing individual psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults as well as experience facilitating group psychotherapy (for family issues, anger management, relapse prevention, and co-occurring disorders). My experience has allowed me to effectively serve a diverse population that has been impacted by trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, attachment issues, life changes, life transitions, and other mental health challenges.
What should someone know about working with you?
As a client, you will be encouraged to be an active participant during sessions and implement strategies discussed or sent via our secure client portal. In our practice, my ultimate goal is to help you to identify, prioritize, and achieve your goals in order to create a happier and healthier mindset and lifestyle.
What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?
I complete ongoing certifications in telemental health services and training on the effects of stress and trauma on the brain and memory, substance use disorders, attachment issues, and how these impact behaviors in adulthood.
How do your core values shape your approach to therapy?
As an immigrant from Colombia, South America, I value the opportunity to serve a diverse population and receive ongoing training to provide quality care, support, and guidance by implementing best practices in a safe and compassionate manner.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
I am excited that telehealth can provide the opportunity to reach more people who lack reliable transportation, have multiple commitments, or are homebound. I am also excited about the neuroscience of trauma.
