“My approach utilizes metaphors and common human threads, the clinical fabric that can reach most clients.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
Early into my undergrad electrical engineering program, I had an epiphany that my greatest resolve was going to be centered around people rather than a slide rule. Working with very diverse DSM-V and medically diagnosed populations has offered me extensive clinical exposure to a myriad of circumstances. Thus, I use an eclectic style when developing an individualized healing perspective. Whether clinical or forensic, my approach is focused on serving the client’s needs.
How do your own core values shape your approach to therapy?
My approach utilizes metaphors and common human threads, the clinical fabric that can reach most clients. Patience and listening are core approaches to assisting clients when revealing their inner concerns and feelings. Asking the client to complete homework is a personalized methodology toward reinforcing and increasing the appropriate implementation of newly acquired skill sets and insights. The quest is to enable the client to appropriately negotiate internal and interpersonal questions on their terms, transitioning toward a greater commitment to their personalized efficacy.
