What was your path to becoming a therapist?
Healing has always been an area of interest and passion for me; I’ve come to realize how important it is to heal mentally and spiritually in order for all else to follow. There is so much power in all of us that may have been hindered due to life experiences and once that is processed and faced, you can experience your journey and path in a healthier way.
What should someone know about working with you?
The intake process can take one or two sessions. I am here to facilitate and discover with you your goals for change and healing. This can be done weekly at first and once there is progress, it will become bi-weekly until you feel that you have met your personal goals and level of healing.
How do your own core values shape your approach to therapy?
In providing therapy through a lens of cultural and racial awareness, we can work together to start breaking the generational traumas and stigmatization around mental health. In becoming aware of internal bias and the negative messages that impact our self-views and self-esteem, we start to internally heal. In becoming empowered to change the messages and attitudes about self that are based on distortion of the world's view, we empower the true view of self through a positive and healthy lens.
