Profile
“As a psychotherapist, I am compassionate and empathetic, and I have a good understanding of when to challenge my clients and when to meet them where they are in their recovery in a collaborative mindset.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I have always wanted to pursue a career in making a difference in someone's life. Being a psychotherapist is my number one career choice. As a psychotherapist, I am compassionate and empathetic, and I have a good understanding of when to challenge my clients and when to meet them where they are in their recovery in a collaborative mindset. I have worked in a variety of settings, including working with high-functioning professionals, artists, and driven individuals of all ages. They have struggled with a wide range of mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, body image concerns, and/or eating disorders. I completed training in a two-year specialty program at the Center for the Study of Anorexia and Bulimia (CSAB), a division of the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy (ICP) in Columbus Circle, New York. I enjoy working with clients of diverse backgrounds and varying interests and working together toward the lifestyle changes they so desire.
What should someone know about working with you?
Our initial contact will be a free phone consultation to decide whether we both feel that we would be a good fit for one another. Afterward, we will schedule an initial intake session in which I will ask you to fill out some documentation about yourself. At the end of this session, we will assess the goodness of fit and/or goals for moving forward. I utilize an integrative approach consisting of both psychodynamic talk therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which does include homework or exercises to do during and after the session.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
I am excited for the growth of the mental health field and to watch the new generation's positivity toward therapy and its many benefits.
