Therapy licenses aren't like driver's licenses — each state has its own set of rules. To offer care, a provider needs to be licensed in the state you're located in when sessions are happening.

Profile
“My clients feel accepted, understood, and heard.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I have been a psychologist in Mexico since 1995. I have been a licensed professional counselor in Texas since 2016. I have been trained and have experience in cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, play therapy, and hypnotherapy.
What should someone know about working with you?
I use an integrative approach in therapeutic treatment. I consider the client's emotional needs and provide the appropriate therapy for their needs. In the first session with my clients, I ask many questions to get to know the client's background and needs. My clients feel accepted, understood, and heard. Some clients also tell me they feel safe and relaxed during the session.
What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?
It is essential for me to continue learning and preparing myself to improve my professional career. Training and certification will give me the necessary tools to grow personally and professionally. At this moment, I am continuing my education by completing a master's degree program in gestalt therapy. This program will provide me with different ways to approach and accompany my clients in the psychotherapeutic process.
