Profile
“While working as a children's advocate and guidance counselor for years, I discovered that there are specific roots that lead to the wellbeing of the mind and realized that I wanted to help teach people how to tap into healthy ways to REST (restore, educate, strengthen, train) mentally and emotionally.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
Having a heart for people and their happiness was the driving force behind my decision to enter the mental health field. I never liked watching people suffer, especially mentally and emotionally. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, I witnessed countless individuals who suffered from emotional, physical, and psychological trauma, which opened the door to mental health-related problems, but I was not able to counsel them through their pain. While working as a children's advocate and guidance counselor for years, I discovered that there are specific roots that lead to the wellbeing of the mind and realized that I wanted to help teach people how to tap into healthy ways to REST (restore, educate, strengthen, train) mentally and emotionally.
What should someone know about working with you?
I try to take the stigma out of therapy and provide a warm, caring atmosphere so individuals can find REST. My goal is to help my clients not only see the possibility of wholeness and wellness but also help them reach their goals as quickly as possible. It takes dedication and hard work, but it is durable and obtainable.
How do your core values shape your approach to therapy?
For years, I dealt with anxiety and panic attacks and understand that this isn't a walk in the park. Once I learned how to be anxiety-free, I wanted to teach those with similar problems how to find their own freedom. I am not here to judge my clients but care enough to help them reach the possibility of mental and emotional freedom.
