Profile
“I am naturally inquisitive about human behavior and what makes people act and think the way they do and I find that the field of psychology has been a great fit for my personal style.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
Each of us searches for our purpose and meaning in life and, after having my children, I felt I needed to find a greater purpose in my life beside the job I held. This led me to get two advanced degrees in psychology and social work with advanced training in addictive disorders, Gestalt therapy, CBT, sexual compulsivity, and trauma. I am naturally inquisitive about human behavior and what makes people act and think the way they do and I find that the field of psychology has been a great fit for my personal style.
What should someone know about working with you?
I am an experienced psychotherapist who will work with you to resolve areas in your life where you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or struggling. My goal is to help you feel less alone and overwhelmed by the challenges life can present. I provide a safe and nonjudgmental environment where you can feel supported on your journey of discovery. I can help you manage symptoms of depression, anxiety, and trauma by helping you to understand your behavioral dynamics. By confronting negative and distorted thoughts, you will learn how to reframe those thoughts and discover their origins. I have a warm, empathic, interactive, and down-to-earth style that allows my clients to express themselves and feel accepted, supported, and understood. We can meet and see if the therapeutic connection is right and take it from there.

What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?
I continue to take courses regularly to help keep up with different approaches, new information, and new knowledge regarding the field of psychology, which leads to a successful therapeutic connection and alliance. I have been certified in trauma, sexual compulsivity, CBT/DBT, and emotional regulation. I also read industry journals on updates and innovative treatments.
