Jason Nicholsen is a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in working with anxiety, trauma, and financial and career stress in adults and members of LGBTQ+ communities. Jason has a master's degree in social work from NYU and utilizes acceptance and commitment therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy to support you in your journey toward a richer, fuller life.
As an openly gay man, I understand the need to create a space for those dealing with navigating the very complex process of connecting to their own identities.
I started working in recruitment and human resources. I liked what I was doing but realized I wanted to connect with individuals directly. I completed my master’s in social work, balancing work, school, and self-care. I have always had a special passion for working with members of LGBTQ communities, and I specialized in supporting anxiety and trauma challenges. I have worked in mental health and addiction recovery clinics in both New York City and Washington, DC. I have special training in both ACT and CBT. I strive to create an environment of safety, curiosity, and kindness.
