Profile
“Helping clients understand why they feel, think, and behave in particular ways allows them to be empowered, create change, and restore balance.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
Since obtaining my master's degree in 2004, I have worked in a variety of settings from outpatient to locked residential. These experiences allowed me to finetune my practice. I find myself driven by the question, “Why?” Helping clients understand why they feel, think, and behave in particular ways allows them to be empowered, create change, and restore balance.
What should someone know about working with you?
I enjoy helping clients who are motivated to work toward an improved sense of self. This is your journey, and I am your guide. I offer tools and suggestions but ultimately, you are responsible for your own progress. An individual session will often involve exploring the mind-body connection, allowing you to take a look inside and create change from within.
What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?
My journey as a clinician has been deeply impacted by internal family systems. IFS is an evidence-based treatment model that has been transformative in all aspects of my life. I have completed the level 1 training and am pursuing certification as part of my professional growth. I have witnessed profound change that is inspiring and provides hope for people with long-term emotional difficulties.
