“My goal is to provide a warm, caring, respectful, and compassionate environment that builds on the existing strengths and resources unique to each person.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I have always had a passion for helping others and providing them with support. I grew up with an overall curiosity about human behavior. I knew I wanted to be in a helping profession and pursued a degree in psychotherapy that would provide me with the understanding and tools I needed to be able to help others. I am dedicated to supporting individuals on their path to self-discovery, healing, and fulfillment.
What should someone know about working with you?
As a therapist, I help clients make sense of their lives both past and present, enabling them to understand the root of their current struggles. This provides an opportunity for change by creating more fulfillment. Life is a challenging process; from the moment we are born we have experiences that affect us and we carry these throughout our lives. Therapy provides an opportunity to feel better and grow as a person. It can alleviate symptoms by providing insight that helps develop your most genuine and creative self. My goal is to provide a warm, caring, respectful, and compassionate environment that builds on the existing strengths and resources unique to each person. I value the connection with my clients and believe that healing occurs within the context of a strong and collaborative therapeutic relationship.
What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?
Continuing to learn is very important to me as it allows me to continually improve as a therapist. I continue to learn and build competencies by participating in ongoing study groups, reading books, and completing training to develop skills. I completed a postgraduate training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
