Profile
“Helping others in their darkest times of need by being their support for healing is truly a blessing, privilege, and honor.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
Becoming a therapist has been a life-changing journey. Helping others in their darkest times of need by being their support for healing is truly a blessing, privilege, and honor. I love to listen and understand everyone's story, as we are all influenced by our past, upbringing, culture, experiences, and family dynamics. I have worked in a variety of settings, such as a community agency, inpatient/outpatient hospitals, in-home counseling, and a school. By practicing in different settings and with different populations, I've gained a great amount of experience in treating multiple disorders and challenges. I'm trained in EMDR therapy and see how effective and life-changing this therapeutic approach is, which is why I include it in my clinical practice.
What should someone know about working with you?
My goal is to help increase your self-awareness by understanding thinking patterns, behaviors, family dynamics, and communication styles. Together, we can process distressing events or difficult situations and help you find solutions by relying on your inner strengths to develop lifelong tools you can use even after therapy ends.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
Mental health awareness has finally received the attention it deserves. As a mental health provider, I'm excited to see the evolution of mental health and how it's becoming a priority in many settings. Telehealth offers the opportunity to extend access to care by allowing one to receive the support needed from the comfort of their private space.
