Profile
“I am experienced in treating sexual dysfunctions, sexual trauma, and out-of-control sexual behaviors; I help single and partnered individuals navigate dating, sex, and relationships.”
What should someone know about working with you?
I’m a fierce advocate for mental and sexual health; I believe everyone deserves to be fulfilled and satisfied in their relationships with themselves and others. I provide psychoeducation and concrete tools to improve your quality of life. I treat traumas from the experiences and past relationships that have made it challenging for you to have fulfilling relationships and satisfying sex. I am experienced in treating sexual dysfunctions, sexual trauma, and out-of-control sexual behaviors; I help single and partnered individuals navigate dating, sex, and relationships.
What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?
I am committed to maintaining expertise in my specialties to serve my clients better. I do this by taking more than the minimum continuing education required by the state. I have taken advanced training in EMDR, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and sex therapy. I am currently in the dissertation phase of my doctorate in clinical sexology.
How do your core values shape your approach to therapy?
One of my core values is seeking and enjoying pleasure. To that end, I assist clients whose traumas or past experiences keep them from seeking or experiencing pleasure. Many people are embarrassed or afraid to express what gives them pleasure. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where my clients can be their authentic selves. I empower them to express their needs and provide them with tools to communicate these needs with their partners, friends, and families. My mission is to improve my client’s quality of life by improving their mental and sexual health.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
Accessibility! The evolving mental health landscape has reduced so many barriers to getting treatment. Clients are now able to attend their sessions from anywhere in the state and can now integrate their mental health care more seamlessly into their schedules.
