Profile
“I believe self-growth is one of those things where you get out of it what you put in.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I understand bad habits (honestly, we all have bad habits!). Sometimes, our bad habits help us and sometimes, our bad habits get us stuck. This stuckness can range from hitting the snooze alarm too much to biting fingernails to eating too many delicious cookies every day. We may find ourselves stuck in cycles of shame, regret, lost hours, and lost energy. But we don’t have to be stuck and I love working with people who want to take back their lives.
What should someone know about working with you?
I believe self-growth is one of those things where you get out of it what you put in. I see myself as your guide as we walk the path to your goals, encountering cliffs and valleys. I can give you all the best practices but I also understand that sometimes life gets in the way and we need to adjust our strategies. As we journey together, I’m actively with you, using different strategies in our sessions, keeping things real with a bit of humor when possible, and sometimes keeping things real with a bit of work to help you get where you’re going. I believe getting unstuck might be challenging but it’s not impossible. Getting unstuck is very worth it and my style is to make it as simple and maybe even as fun as possible.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
I love working with people with body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRB), such as chronic skin picking, hair pulling, and nail biting. Thanks to the TLC Foundation for BFRBs, new research, strategies, and opportunities keep coming out to help BFRBers take back their lives. I’m thrilled to offer individual, group, and family treatment to the BFRB community and help those with chronic conditions manage their habits and live life to the fullest.
