What was your path to becoming a therapist?
Teaching children from all backgrounds and working with their families led me to a desire to serve people of various ages in a new way. I wanted to walk beside them in their pain and teach them skills to enrich their lives and deepen their relationships with Christ and others.
What should someone know about working with you?
Sessions will focus on your needs and how I can help you fulfill them. We will set goals as a team to address those needs. Needs may be focused on your own struggles with eating or focused on how to talk to your hurting child without starting an argument. Goals may include improving communication or helping you clear emotional, cognitive, or spiritual blocks.
What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?
I am a lifelong learner and always will be! I love learning from my younger, older, and similarly-aged colleagues and seeing the unique ways they help others. I am passionate about learning more about eating disorders and how to continue to effectively guide families and children through them. Speaking of children, I enjoy being educated on how to address their needs in the form of play therapy.
