What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I've worked in the mental health field for over 10 years, working in a variety of settings from inpatient to community mental health, from private practice to substance abuse treatment. This experience has allowed me the opportunity to be part of the healing process for a diverse array of clients from all different backgrounds. My background in sociology has created an understanding of the social forces that shape our society and has allowed me to see that many of our personal troubles are an understandable response to larger systemic issues.
What should someone know about working with you?
I use an integrative approach that combines elements of humanistic, cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, and mindfulness-based modalities. Your therapy will be customized to your individual needs. There’s no homework unless you want it!
