Profile
“What I offer as a clinician is unique because my upbringing combined with my professional experience has shaped me to be a strong communicator, a great listener, and able to see many perspectives.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
From a young age, I was drawn to areas of study related to human behavior, especially relationships and self-esteem. This motivated me to pursue a mental health degree so I could empower people to explore and make change that improves their lives. My experience comes from working with diverse populations at local community centers and an outpatient mental health clinic. What I offer as a clinician is unique because my upbringing combined with my professional experience has shaped me to be a strong communicator, a great listener, and able to see many perspectives.
What should someone know about working with you?
My approach as a therapist is flexible because I understand the importance of your individuality. It is important for me that my clients feel comfortable when they start treatment whether it be their first time or they have had past experiences. I start with a conversation on what the therapy process looks like and the importance of building a therapeutic relationship. After gathering some information, we work together to set goals with a comfortable timeline. We discuss what has worked in the past, what has set you back, and how you can use that to work toward attaining your goals.
What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?
I am a part of several organizations where I look for opportunities to learn through conferences, research, and community networks. As clinicians, we are responsible to never stop learning and to always have an open mind that is ready to discover.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
I am passionate about the importance of better access to mental health services. We are living in a time where the internet has provided more opportunities than ever before. Telehealth has allowed so many to receive individualized help right in their home. I am excited to be a part of this history in the making and to witness this positive impact on society.
