What was your path to becoming a therapist?
Much of my work experience has been at a nonprofit organization working with children, adolescents, and adults. I have been able to learn and gain a deeper understanding of other cultures and religions. I am trained in CBT, EMDR, and perinatal mood disorders. This allows me to tailor my sessions to the client’s needs. In the most recent years, my focus has been working with women around life transitions, including parenting, pregnancy, career changes, and relationships.
What should someone know about working with you?
When working together, you are provided with a safe and nurturing environment to develop skills to manage anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and relationships (including the relationship with yourself).
What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?
I continue to participate in peer supervision groups and complete training in the modalities already familiar to me as well as others. Most recently, I began DBT training.
