“My approach to working with clients is eclectic; I will always consider the client’s needs first and treat each client as an individual.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
My career began in education as a school counselor. My 15-year tenure in schools allowed me to see the need for a focus on mental health in the community and a desire to create awareness about the benefit of talk therapy. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to receive training in CBT, DBT, and the psychological aspects of infertility and assisted reproductive technology.
What should someone know about working with you?
My approach to working with clients is eclectic; I will always consider the client’s needs first and treat each client as an individual.
What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?
I try to take every opportunity I have to engage in professional training and often turn to colleagues from various professional organizations for insight and guidance. These professional relationships are a wealthy source of knowledge that help increase my competencies as a therapist.
How do your core values shape your approach to therapy?
I believe that every individual is capable of creating positive change in his or her life.
