Profile
“I am here to help you, listen to you, and work together with you to gain insight, develop good coping skills, and move forward toward your goals!”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I have been working in the field of mental health and intellectual disabilities for over 30 years. My passion for helping others and reducing the stigma of living with mental health issues and getting help led me down this path. Therapy is a wonderful, enlightening experience if you put the work in. I am here to help you, listen to you, and work together with you to gain insight, develop good coping skills, and move forward toward your goals!
What should someone know about working with you?
I do my best to meet my clients where they are, listening and supporting them without judgment. The counseling process is individualized, so it may be different for each client. My goal is to make you feel comfortable. Although the counseling process can be challenging, being able to leave the session or finish your work with a feeling of being "lighter" is something I hope all can experience.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
I am really excited about the growing field of telehealth. I find it provides the chance to reach out to people who may not have had access to in-person therapy. I think it is also helpful for people who may struggle with anxiety, depression, or physical challenges that make going to therapy in person more difficult. It’s great to have the options of in-person or telehealth therapy!
