“I believe strongly in the transformative energy of the human spirit.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I believe strongly in the transformative energy of the human spirit. I believe that with self-determination and a knowledgeable, nonjudgmental approach, one can reach a place of absolute self-fulfillment, genuine inner peace, and meaningful healthy connections with others. Clients have told me that I have a natural ability to create an environment that encourages self-exploration and a safe space.
What should someone know about working with you?
I offer relational therapy; clients hold a piece of the process so I ask them to take accountability in the therapeutic work. I often assign followup exercises to encourage clients to increase their insight and awareness and achieve their treatment goals at a higher rate. I believe the therapy intake process should not be burdensome and I offer a 100% paperless intake process to reduce feelings of being overwhelmed.
What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?
I am continuing to learn more about trauma-focused care and learning how to guide clients through their trauma recovery process using somatic processing and internal family systems interventions. I welcome opportunities to collaborate with other therapists in the field who are experienced in working with clients diagnosed with PTSD.
