What was your path to becoming a therapist?
From a young age, Eastern practice and wisdom have been a personal passion of mine. This continued while pursuing my medical degree.
What should someone know about working with you?
Working with me requires you to share your past and present psychiatric history. The right treatment plan requires a few initial sessions to discuss your situation; after this, only maintenance sessions are needed.
How do your own core values shape your approach to therapy?
I believe it is important to see a patient holistically and understand the interconnectedness between mental health and all other aspects of the mind, body, diet, lifestyle, and spirituality. I believe in energy medicine, positive supportive psychology, and using techniques like meditation and mindfulness whenever possible along with the right medications for the most optimal mental health outcomes.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
I am excited about an increased awareness around mental health issues and a greater understanding. We are finally destigmatizing mental health and that is wonderful. Telehealth platforms are also helping to improve access to care for more people.
