Profile
“I will attempt to better understand how your thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors are impacting your emotions (CBT) while focusing on stressful life events and the interpersonal events associated with what you have been feeling (IPT).”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I received my PsyD from Adler University in Chicago and I have experience working in a women's clinic, in a pediatric hospital, in a local community clinic, in crisis units, and in the foster care system, providing psychological evaluations to children. After having my son and experiencing postpartum anxiety, I came to realize how important it was to specialize in providing the best care for those individuals who experience perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
What should someone know about working with you?
I have been trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT). I will attempt to better understand how your thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors are impacting your emotions (CBT) while focusing on stressful life events and the interpersonal events associated with what you have been feeling (IPT). This approach supports clients to feel less alone, not to blame themselves for their symptoms, and to feel as if they can create their village to help them through a difficult period in their lives.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
With the expansion of telehealth services, I have been privileged to meet many clients from all over Florida. It has allowed me to provide services to individuals who have time conflicts, difficulties leaving their home due to responsibilities, or limited transportation.
