Profile
“I use a holistic approach and consider biological, psychological, and social aspects of a client's life to determine the best treatment paradigms.”
What should someone know about working with you?
My ideal client is someone who desires a partner in addressing their mental health. I view the client-doctor relationship as a shared decision-making process that will facilitate an individually- tailored approach to achieve optimal mental health. I use a holistic approach and consider biological, psychological, and social aspects of a client's life to determine the best treatment paradigms. Whether you are looking for a skilled talk therapist or need assistance with medications, I am confident that I can help you achieve your goals.
How do your own core values shape your approach to therapy?
I grew up as a first-generation Turkish American and I understand that cultural influences may play a significant role in determining our mental health. I always try to understand each client's background better to help devise a comprehensive treatment plan.
Have you done any research-based work that you found particularly exciting? How does it inform your practice today?
My research includes the following papers: “Substance-Induced Anxiety and Co-Occurring Anxiety Disorders” in Substance Use and the Acute Psychiatric Patient: Emergency Management, “Inflammatory Mechanisms, the Immune System and Psychiatric Illness” in Landmark Papers in Psychiatry, “What are the Consequences of Sub-concussion and Concussion in Male Ice Hockey Players?” in Horizons in Neuroscience Research, “Functional Genetic Variations and their Role in Aggressive Behavior in the Context of Disruptive Behavior Disorders” in Advances in Psychology Research
“Whether you are looking for a skilled talk therapist or need assistance with medications, I am confident that I can help you achieve your goals.”
