“I love being able to help my clients successfully reach their treatment goals.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
After graduating with honors in psychology from the University of Texas, I pursued a doctorate in psychology at the University of Denver. During my graduate studies, I specialized in cognitive behavioral therapy. I also completed a seminar in the prep program for couples therapy through Howard Markman, PhD. I completed a dissertation in creating a couples sex therapy workshop. I went on to complete an internship in clinical psychology and sex therapy at Colorado State University. Upon completion of that internship, I completed a residency at Citrus Health Network where I worked on a residential unit with adolescents. I have been in private practice since 2007 and love the work/life rhythm that I have created! I love being able to help my clients successfully reach their treatment goals.
What should someone know about working with you?
The initial session will include an extensive intake where we will collaborate to create treatment goals. I will check in with you to monitor progress and ensure that therapy is meeting your needs. Homework assignments will be given to reinforce skills we work on in therapy. I love working with a wide variety of clients!
What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?
I obsessively listen to audiobooks on the latest research and podcasts from my favorite therapists. I also attend numerous continuing education events every year. I love learning more and more about innovations in sex therapy.
