Profile
“I have worked with families for six years and specialize in working with families who have a child with challenging behaviors (such as ADHD or ODD).”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
Growing up in a divorced/blended family from the age of two, I learned early on how to empathize with the emotions of others and how to communicate effectively within complicated dynamics. Professionally, I began working with incarcerated individuals and then justice-involved youth and their families. I have worked with families for six years and specialize in working with families who have a child with challenging behaviors (such as ADHD or ODD). I primarily utilize CBT, BT, TF-CBT, and DBT.
What should someone know about working with you?
I will send you a link to my consents and an initial questionnaire. I do assign some informal homework between sessions to help you practice skills. I truly believe in the importance of someone fully "hearing" what is going on in your life and we will get started as soon as possible to help you feel some relief.
How do your own core values shape your approach to therapy?
I believe that a therapist's ability to connect on a deep, nonjudgmental, and human level is just as important as any credential. We are all imperfect people who have the ability to help perfect other people. I look forward to meeting you and getting started!
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
I am very excited about the telehealth movement and being able to reach people who traditionally would not be able to participate in therapy due to their schedule.
