Profile
“I derive joy from being able to positively impact someone’s life.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
As the first of seven siblings, caring and nurturing was part of growing up. I derive joy from being able to positively impact someone’s life. Choosing mental health was my way of giving back to vulnerable and sometimes overlooked populations.
What should someone know about working with you?
My process is streamlined. Individualized treatment and progress are made with client involvement. I enjoy working with clients who are engaged and have a life goal of recovery.
What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?
I am currently in a doctoral program to engage and conduct original research that would benefit the mental health population.
How do your core values shape your approach to therapy?
I am always aware that each individual’s experience or reaction to events impacts how they deal with day-to-day life. I try to reaffirm and reflect what my clients share to let them know that they are heard.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
I am excited about news coverage of famous individuals who are speaking out about their mental illness challenges. This helps remove the stigma from people talking about mental health and seeking help.
