“Throughout my social work career, I have discovered my passion lies in working with individuals to navigate change in order to feel their very best from the inside out.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
For as long as I can remember, I was always the person my family and friends leaned on for support through challenging situations. I graduated with my MSW from Simmons College School of Social Work and started my career at a community health center, conducting individual, couples, family, and group therapy. I continued my social work career in psychiatric emergency services in a local emergency room, conducting psychiatric evaluations. Throughout my social work career, I have discovered my passion lies in working with individuals to navigate change in order to feel their very best from the inside out. I am passionate about exploring the mind-body connection and teaching my clients how to utilize holistic approaches to increase mood and self-esteem.
What should someone know about working with you?
I love working with people who are ready to make a change! I believe identifying tangible goals together is key to a successful partnership in therapy. I am also a certified integrative mental health professional (CIMHP) and know there is a correlation between how we take care of our body and mental health. I expect my clients to take an active role in their therapy and utilize the skills we discuss in our weekly sessions in their time between sessions.
What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?
I believe in the mind-body connection and that food, sleep, and exercise significantly impact mental health. I am always searching for new information and training opportunities to ensure I am providing the highest quality of care and support for my clients.
