“While I will not be the therapist who tells you what you think you want to hear, I will provide unconditional support as you pursue your goals.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I started my postgraduate education around the same time I started my family and soon became passionate about and committed to both. After being a stay-at-home caretaker for sixteen years, I entered the workforce ready to embrace a career focused on using my experience, my education, and my dedication.
What should someone know about working with you?
I believe there is no “one-size-fits-all” to therapy and that the connection and alliance developed between client and clinician is paramount. My intake approach is focused on exploring the potential for that connection while making the client(s) feel secure and supported. While I will not be the therapist who tells you what you think you want to hear, I will provide unconditional support as you pursue your goals. Strategies, skills, and interventions are helpful in linking session to session and common themes and/or unofficial homework might be appropriate based on a client's unique needs.
How do your own core values shape your approach to therapy?
I believe that each individual is worthy of acceptance and support (even on our worst days) and my own personal life experience has served to develop my capacity for empathy of others and their individual journeys.
