Profile
“I utilize an eclectic and integrative therapeutic approach and specialize in providing mental health, substance abuse, and forensic counseling services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
My path toward becoming a therapist was not something I sought out originally; I fell into the field by becoming an alcohol and drug counselor and then recognized the need to address alcohol and drug issues and mental health illnesses. I later realized that my name Sandra means “helper of man.”
What should someone know about working with you?
I utilize an eclectic and integrative therapeutic approach and specialize in providing mental health, substance abuse, and forensic counseling services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.
How do your core values shape your approach to therapy?
I am currently in pursuit of my PhD in clinical psychology with a specialization in forensic psychology. I offer diagnostic assessments and testing to clarify or rule out specific disorders and provide treatment recommendations. I also conduct psychological evaluations to assess a person’s current level of cognitive, academic, emotional, and social functioning and provide interventions. In addition, I administer substance abuse screenings and anger, aggression, and violence assessments (AAVA).
