“Being on the other side of the chair showed me how powerful therapy can be in understanding myself and achieving long-lasting change.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
Therapy has always been a passion of mine; understanding human behavior piqued my curiosity as a young adult. Being on the other side of the chair showed me how powerful therapy can be in understanding myself and achieving long-lasting change. I have provided therapy to a range of populations and in multiple settings, including foster youth in a large metropolitan area, crisis intervention at a medical clinic, and trauma-focused therapy to children and families at a community mental health center. I have also facilitated and developed support groups for postpartum women, children, teens, parents, and domestic violence survivors. As a therapist, my goal is to help my clients achieve mental wellness and reach their life goals.
What should someone know about working with you?
In order to ensure we are a great fit, I provide a free 15-minute consultation. I enjoy working with clients who are ready for change and willing to put in the effort. I am mindful that each client has their own unique needs and base my holistic approach on different treatment modalities to produce positive and lasting change.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
I'm very excited about telehealth! I was not a fan before the pandemic but as I started seeing clients virtually, I realized that the therapeutic relationship can still flourish online. Telehealth gives clients greater access to therapists outside of their immediate area and my hope is that anyone who needs therapy will have access to it.
