“My therapeutic style is warm, caring, and nonjudgmental.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
My therapeutic style is warm, caring, and nonjudgmental. I believe that all people contain the keys to their own healing and that a skilled clinician can guide and shape this process, ultimately empowering individuals to reach their true potential. I’ve worked in inpatient and outpatient settings and have experience treating a wide range of mental health issues. I hope to guide you through whatever challenges you are facing in a safe, compassionate, and meaningful way.
What should someone know about working with you?
I believe that for counseling to be most effective, the alliance between client and provider is of great importance. During your initial comprehensive assessment, we will explore not only the issues that bring you to treatment but the overall stylistic and personality fit between us. I tailor my approach to best meet the needs of each individual client and can provide more or less therapeutic structure as needed. I enjoy working with clients who are insightful, motivated, and ready for real and lasting change in their lives.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
Since becoming certified in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), I am cognizant that the experience of traumatic events is a theme that underlies a myriad of mental and emotional health issues. As such, I am continually updating my clinical knowledge on trauma and the impact of trauma on the mind, body, and spirit and will continue exploring the newest interventions that address trauma in counseling.
