“I integrate a person-centered, holistic, and self-compassionate approach to help people work through growing, shifting, and transforming.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
Over the past 30+ years, I have treated the varied emotional problems of several diverse generations. Those clients who worked hard and gave significant time to the treatment were all, for the most part, able to put their relationships in order and further enhance them as well as become rather successful in their work. My clinical experience includes psychotherapy, crisis intervention work, and private practice.
What should someone know about working with you?
I incorporate different approaches and techniques, understanding that there is no such thing as "one size fits all" when it comes to getting therapy. I integrate a person-centered, holistic, and self-compassionate approach to help people work through growing, shifting, and transforming. Through a relationship ,We'll work together helping you find ways to better understand and move forward to live a joyous life as efficiently as possible. My role as a therapist is to support you in your quest for presence, change, love, and meaning. I currently accept online clients only, and appointments will occur via video session at an assigned date and time, using secure video calling that adheres to HIPAA privacy requirements.
How do your own core values shape your approach to therapy?
Therapy is, above all, a partnership. My personal nature is nonjudgmental and down to earth and so is my therapeutic approach! Healing creates change! Hope heals and can change everything! Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
I’m a senior director for a leading mental health agency in New York, where clinicians provide very effective services and run day-to-day program operations, through teletherapy . Access to therapy has been a challenge for many Americans. Travel barriers, childcare considerations, and many other barriers have prevented many from receiving services they deserve. I am glad that telehealth is bringing opportunity to so many more people to get assistance and receive necessary services from the comfort of their homes.
