Profile
“Treatment involves using assessment scales developed to measure progress and improvement as well as medication management utilizing FDA guidelines and the American Psychiatric Association’s standards of care.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I was born in Moldavia and grew up in Brooklyn, New York. Growing up around multiple family members who clearly displayed psychiatric symptoms, I began to question what was normal and what was a disorder and decided to study psychology and nursing. After getting my nursing degree, I began my journey as a nurse in a geriatric mental health unit in Phoenix, Arizona. I spent 14 years practicing psychiatry with underserved populations of Arizona. Since returning to New York, I uncovered a passion for ADHD and have made it my specialty, taking various continuing education classes and reading multiple books on the topic.
What should someone know about working with you?
Treatment involves using assessment scales developed to measure progress and improvement as well as medication management utilizing FDA guidelines and the American Psychiatric Association’s standards of care.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
I have been doing telehealth psychiatry for over 10 years in underserved areas of rural Arizona. It has been a lifesaver for so many people to have access to psychiatric treatment in their homes or a nearby clinic. My goals have always been accessibility, affordability, and quality; I believe everyone deserves access to quality mental health care when they need it.
