What was your path to becoming a nurse practitioner?

My path to becoming a family nurse practitioner reflects a steadfast commitment to patient care and a continuous pursuit of knowledge. I embarked on my nursing career in 1999, obtaining my LPN license from the Vocational Education Extension Board of Nursing. Building on my passion for nursing, I earned an RN qualification in 2003 from the Helene Fuld College of Nursing, demonstrating my dedication to expanding my skills. Driven by a desire to offer comprehensive care, I pursued higher education, obtaining a Master of Science degree from Long Island University (CW Post) in 2016. Recognizing the pivotal role of mental health in overall well-being, I furthered my expertise by earning a post-master's certification as a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner from Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, NY. This additional qualification empowered me to address the mental health needs of my patients, solidifying my commitment to a holistic approach.
