“I challenge you to expand your horizons while firmly establishing boundaries. My ideal client is seeking to regain a sense of balance as multiple areas (relationships, work, family, health) are out of alignment.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
My path to becoming a therapist started while working in a college admissions office. I got in trouble for taking too long conducting interviews; every student (adult and adolescent) had a story they wanted to tell. They wanted to explain why they got a C in math or dropped out and got a GED instead and I loved listening to every single one. Some students came in discouraged and I helped encourage and motivate them to pursue their future goals regardless of past mistakes. I knew then I needed to be impacting people’s lives in a more meaningful way.
What should someone know about working with you?
I provide a free 15-minute consultation so that we can ensure this new relationship is the best fit for both of us. I am very easygoing and enjoy completing clinical assessments and therapy with my clients. I love interacting and getting to know what makes you the best version of yourself. Most importantly, I challenge you to expand your horizons while firmly establishing boundaries. My ideal client is seeking to regain a sense of balance as multiple areas (relationships, work, family, health) are out of alignment.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
I’m really excited about the work being done around systemic racism and unconscious bias. Many of my clients experience microaggressions on a daily basis that further add to the stresses of daily life. I’m excited to see POC increasingly access care from competent professionals.
